When I was driving around Lader, I stopped to take a shot of a couple of eagles I came across. I was so happy to spot so many eagles this day. Some perched on telephone poles, perched up in trees and soaring in the sky. I just thought how lucky am I to be witnessing such beauty in my own backyard?
I found out that bald eagles migrate down here during the winter months from Northern B.C., the Yukon, and Alaska. When the rivers freeze up north, the eagles fly down south to find their favourite food source, salmon. The Fraser River is the largest producer of sockeye salmon in the world. This is one of the largest gatherings of bald eagles in the world.
